for those of you in Liberia, especially. any idea on how much it cost to get internet hook up at one's residence: installation, initial and monthly charges, etc.
Any idea, anyone?

not really sure.. but i think i heard Libercell charges about 120 a month.. there is another provider that charge 70 i think, but i cant recall their name off head....

i know cellcom also provide internet service as well as comium.

Where is Telecom in all this business...These people used the satelite dish and u mean telecom can't wake or be privatize to provide land line and jobs for the average Liberians..

thats cheap compared to what it was before..... i think it was around 300 before.. but with the addition of other service providers, it has dropped

life and its perks are not cheap in liberia today. infact, i think it's more expensive to live there than in the US or europe if you wanna keep to a certain standard.

Internet is Not a priority right now.....Food is....Besides theres no way telecom can compete with scratch cards......

nothing wrong with building internet cafes to cater to people... am saying that the ordinary man wont be putting no internet service in his home...... he would quicker go pay L$50 to browse the net for 20 minutes........

So if the Internet, Rice, cassava, coolaid, toilet paper and mercedes benz are all under the category of luxury items....I would rather wipe my butt with tissue than surf the internet any day

Candy, from doing the research we have done, don't you think that money could have been put to better use....educate the kids first, built schools, pay the teachers....who will it benefit when most people in that area can't even read and/or write...what sence does that make, that just my opinon


I sware Liberia got her priorities all mix up.

they got plenty tissue factories here.... you can buy tissue for 40-35LD a piece.. but that a lot in some cases for people who live on a less than a dollar a day......................
